Opened in 1994, the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is home to a number of Cayman's interesting endemic species of plants and animals. It is currently jointly owned by the Cayman Islands government and the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. The park is located on Frank Sound Road in the North Side district ( about 40 minutes away from Georgetown) and is open to the public from 9:00am to 5:30pm (with last admission at 4:30pm) all year-round except on Christmas day and Good Friday. Tickets can be bought at the park entrance for CI$8 or US$10 (free entrance for children accompanied by parent). Membership fees start at CI$50 or US$62.50 for those who wish to visit the park on a frequent basis throughout the year.
