Last year I was in my first year of college, and myself and my class mates were given a phone photography assignment. It was free choice, meaning I could choose to do whatever I wanted, as long as I produced a series of images. It took me ages to think of something to do, because obviously you need to bear in mind that the quality wasn’t going to be great. I started to think about how most people carry their phones with them at all times and how handy they are. Then one day when sitting at a bus stop (my first ever foot photo) I strangely started thinking about feet. I realised that they too were handy and always with us. I know it sounds weird, but then I started thinking about how I could document the places I go to by taking photos of my feet, and I’d never be stuck and forget my camera at some place interesting because I will always have my phone with me! At the time I didn’t realize how significant the project would be, but looking back now I’ve realised that I still remember the times very clearly, and so if I carry it on, I hope I will still remember how I felt and where I was in the future. Here’s some of the images I took last year..
Here’s the first ever image! I was sitting at the bus stop in Peterborough when this project first came to mind. I started it straight away. Cliche I know, but I like to add filters!

I’m in the common room at college here…I get to college almost an hour early every day so I have a lot of spare time!

As you can see, these aren’t high quality, exhibition prints, and I do like a cliche Instagram filter, but this project is more for fun! So I’m going to try to carry it on and hopefully document some more interesting places!
