…put it all together

I admit it, sometimes curiosity gets the better of me. There are some details, that once you have them, you simply need to know the rest of the story.

For example, when I heard "Murder Mystery," Adam Sandler's latest comedy for Netflix was viewed by 30 million accounts in just three days, I needed to see it for myself.

And crusaders, if you've ever wondered what an Agatha Christie novel with Adam Sandler and Rachel Green (yes, I know what I did there) would be like, you wonder about very specific things, and I have great news for you...

Picture this: A Mediterranean whodunnit set on a yacht with a would-be detective (Adam Sandler) and his wife (Jennifer Aniston), who also happens to love detective novels, along for the ride.

Yes, that's right, a murder mystery on a yacht. You know what that means - it was the first mate on Deck C with the buoy. Also, it means we have a limited pool of suspects, each one of them more over-the-top than the last. First, there's the deceased's nephew (Luke Evans), a debonair and dashing man who was jilted by his fiance, who left him for his uncle (yes, the dead one).

Next there's the son (David Walliams), who was just about to lose his inheritance when his father. Then there's the Colonel (John Kani), also jilted by the victim ... an actress (Gemma Arterton), who doesn't seem to have a great reason for being there ... a race car driver (Luis Gerardo Méndez) ... and I'm hoping you've caught on to the tone of this movie.

In a word, it's ridiculous. The good kind. For the record, 30 million people can be wrong, but in this case, I will give credit where credit is due, this is a delightful, sweet, fun movie worth a watch if you have 90 minutes to kill (a pun has never been as intended as this one).

...bi-daily smile...
