…put on a Happy Face

…put on a happy face

...can't help myself

Mondays.  You love ‘em or you hate ‘em, but they set the tone for an entire week.  But what sets the tone for your Monday?

It would seem to me that the fate of a week would be determined by the hours which precedes its commencement.

So the question is: How was your Sunday?

I don’t even have to ask residents of Cardinal Nation.  Nothing can bring us down.

We’ve got Rally Squirrel, Torty Craig, and our team is headed to the World Series (with home-field advantage)!!!

I will continue to wear my gear around Chicago, and no amount of sneering and bitterness will dampen my spirits.

I will respond to your taunts with smiles and the knowledge that my Cardinals are in the World Series and your teams are not.

Residents of Sesame Street (and Milwaukee) on the other hand may be having a slightly surlier (one might say “sullied” for you Brewer’s fans) Monday.

The news which I must bring to you regarding our furry, educational friends (and frequent contributors to the bi-daily smile) is a little upsetting and definitely not family friendly.

Therefore I will be speaking in G-rated code.  For full interpretation click on the link below.

Sesame Street’s YouTube page was violated yesterday.  What is usually an enlightening and educational corner of the Internet was hacked and filled with… “popcorn.”

The scum of the earth infiltrated the land of sunny days and chasing clouds away.

It’s true that the program prides themselves on teaching children life lessons of all kinds, not just the easy ones, but “popcorn” seems like a lesson best saved for later in life.

Needless to say the page was shut down within 20 minutes of the discovery.   The air is clean once again, and the site has since been restored, but “popcorn” on Sesame Street is not so easily forgotten or forgiven.

No comment as to how Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, and all other residents of the Street are coping, but rest assured that this vicarious resident was thoroughly disgusted by the thought of “popcorn” on Sesame Street.

Perhaps Oscar and his eternal cynicism will be able to help them cope.  Although this even seems a little dark, even for a grouch.  Nevertheless, hopefully the rest of the week will be “popcorn” free for these puppets.

As for the Cardinals, expect further World Series commentary later in the week.

For now, I’d just like to wish everyone a happy week.  Whether, you can’t help but smile, or choose to smile through it.  Trust me it’ll make you feel better.
