This What to Watch Wednesday I'm bringing all the jazz with a mid-series check-in on "Fosse/Verdon," a.k.a. the show all your theater friends are watching. I'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone that if you haven't been watching, you've been missing one of the best performances of the season...
Come for the flashy musical numbers...
Stay for the ridiculous talent of Michelle Williams and, of course, the utter majesty of the woman she's portraying, Gwen Verdon...
Powerhouse is not a strong enough word for either of these women, but it's the closest I've got.
Musical theater can (at times) be all about making things big and over the top, something that Ms. Williams excels at...
But it's the subtleties that make the show and the role shine...
If you're not already on the "Fosse/Verdon" train, there's still time to join this party.
