…Re-Gift

pile-of-gift-cardsAs we slowly make our way from Christmas to New Year’s, odds are a good number of you are dealing an annual dilemma faced by millions of gift receivers — what to do with all those gift cards.

In the past, you’ve had two options, spend them now or spend them later.  Thanks, to a new gift card exchange program, you now have a new third option.

You can now exchange your gift cards for over 200 retailers, airlines and restaurants for a Wal-Mart card. If that sounds too good to be true, well, it kind of is.

While Wal-Mart is happy to collect your unwanted gift card, they’re not offering an even exchange.  The going rate varies depending on the retailer, but ranges from 95 to 70 percent of the original gift card’s value.

On the bright side, you won’t have to figure out what to buy with all those other gift cards.  Although, now you’ll have to deliberate over what to spend your slightly less valuable Wal-Mart gift card on…
