What’s four feet tall, 62 pounds, and can seriously creep you out?
A new kind of robot that can tell how you’re feeling. Yes, science has essentially created a giant, mechanical mood ring.
Now, the robot, named Pepper, doesn’t yet change colors based on your current mood (although I’d like to submit that for the suggestion box), but it does read facial expressions and learn how to respond to different moods over time.
You know what else does that? People, people do that.
Pepper’s unveiling is being dubbed a historic moment, by the CEO of the company responsible for Pepper’s creation.
Yes, history may remember this moment, and then they may send one of the mutants back to stop that moment when we outsourced emotions to the machines, but it’s a cool trick.
