…Recharge

Smart phone users may be paying through the nose for their free apps.

According to a study conducted at Purdue University (and paid for by Microsoft) your free version of Angry Birds could be using 65 to 75 percent of its energy on non-pig-killing activities.

Thes other activities include (but are surely not limited to) user tracking, downloading ads and uploading user information.

I’ll give you a second to recover from the shock that these app developers aren’t handing out free applications out of the goodness of their hearts.

Right now, you might be asking yourself if it’s worth the price. Should your battery life have to suffer because of your free app addiction?

That’s a question you’ll have to answer for yourself.

But it seems like a small price to pay in order to keep those green pigs in line (for free, of course).
