There’s plenty of things to be excited about with the new year, especially if you’re a movie fan.
2014 has a lot to offer. We’ll see some more Marvel sequels (X-Men and Captain America), as well as some possible flops (Noah – starring Russell Crowe).
Before we start looking forward, I thought I’d take a moment to look back. 2013 was a big year for movies. If you don’t agree, well then it might surprise you to know that 2013 set an all-time box office record. The global box office brought in over $10.9 billion in 2013.
When you consider that the average ticket price is around $8 (where’s that theater?)…well, that’s a lot of moviegoers.
If you’re concerned about 2014, just take a look at this week’s battle between the Hobbit and a Disney princess movie that came out at the end of November (if you don’t believe me – TIME.com).
It should be a good year.
