This Sunday we find ourselves right in the middle of that limbo between Christmas and New Years.

As we sit on the precipice of a new year, it seems the perfect time to remember the one behind us and look ahead to the new one just days away.

There were plenty of lessons to be learned in the last 365 (ish).

So, as 2013 draws to a close, we thought we’d take a moment to remember some of our favorite lessons of 2013:

  • Selfies: Unfortunately, these monuments to narcissism appear to be here to stay (for now). So, grin, extend your arm as far as you can, and bear it.
  • Security: Edward Snowden taught us all that it’s more a state of mind (and denial) than an actual thing.
  • Twerking: It’s just really annoying…or is that the medias endless obsession with twerking?
  • Politics: The world would be a better place if more politicians were as brave as Nelson Mandela…and on a slightly more superficial note, Prince George is adorable.
