…rerun

…rerunNo one really likes reruns, with the exception of that one episode of Gilmore Girls/Friends/Seinfeld/The Office that you could just watch over and over again.

Okay, let me rephrase that: everyone loves re-watching their favorite shows. It’s like hanging with old friends or flipping through a photo album (for those who still use such archaic methods).

These are shared memories and as much a part of our lives as they are a part of our larger culture, but I digress…

This inherent show of laziness…because watching a new show just takes so much effort, emotional and otherwise…may actually be good for you. Well, good for your mood and consequently your self-control.

It turns our that indulging in these previously viewed classic television moments may actually be good for you. Good for your brain anyways. Good moods improve your self-control and familiar shows make improve your mood.

It’s a self-beneficial cycle–a particularly lazy one, but maybe your improved self-control will help you get off the couch every now and then.  Just make sure not to miss your reruns.

…because it’s definitely one of the best shows ever, and odds are (considering it got cancelled before its time) you haven’t watched it:
