…resolve

Posted on the 02 January 2014 by Zer @the2women

…resolveWe’re on day 2 of 2014 and I’m sure we’re all still basking in the glow of a new year. Most of us are still gung-ho about our resolutions.

We all have our own special habits we’d like to break or encourage. According to a recent survey by the  University of Scranton featured in the “Journal of Clinical Psychology” the top 5 resolutions of 2014 are:

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Get Organized
  3. Spend Less, Save More
  4. Enjoy Life to the Fullest
  5. Stay Fit and Healthy

Although they’re seriously lacking in originality, they’re all noble goals to be sure, and we’re not yet  48 hours into 2014. We couldn’t possibly have failed yet. Right?

Wrong.

Unfortunately, according to the same study, 92% of you will fail, and most of you will do so in the first week of 2014.

This is simply unacceptable. So, I’m here to shame you into finding the motivation and perseverance that you will require to prove this statistic wrong (or at least make it into that hallowed eight percent). You’re welcome.

I accept that changing old habits and forming new ones are difficult tasks. I accept that doing so takes time and commitment. I do not accept that only eight percent of us are capable of such strength of character. Perhaps that should be at the top of your list of resolutions, right behind “come up with better resolutions.”

Should you choose to make the practice of correct grammar your resolution, take inspiration from this blast from the past (2013, that is):
