Happy 2016 Summer Olympics opening ceremonies eve! Despite all the controversy and health concerns, it’s here…almost. Although, if you’ve been following it closely, you’ll know that soccer/football actually started yesterday.
Zika, steroids, and technical start dates aside, tomorrow’s ceremonies should be epic, and worth tuning in for. The Olympics are all about global unity with a side of national pride, which are both things we could all use a little more of.
If national pride and general goodwill aren’t enough to convince you, well then consider the fact that this is the first Olympics ever hosted by a South American country. It’s history in the making. True, it’s been a real downer for Brazil’s economy and it may take their country quite some time to recover, but you could at least tune in to see if the blaze of glory was worth the financial ruin.
It should be one heck of a party either way.
