…say It Many Times, Many Ways

…say it many times, many ways

Whether you like it or not the Christmas season is officially upon us. That means twinkling lights, garland, roasted chestnuts, and Christmas music.

Some of you may have been listening to carols since July, but not everyone has your evergreen Yuletide enthusiasm, and can guess what’s coming?

There’s a study to back it up! Technically it’s ongoing research on the psychology of music…semantics.

How can you not put a holly, jolly spin on it?  It’s like Christmas came early.

Like with all music, our associations, mindset, and general temperament play a strong role in how we feel about a song.

That, and the amount of times we hear it in the span of a month.  I have to admit that although I love me some Christmas carols, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” sets my teeth on edge, and now I have an excuse for it.  It’s over-played (not by me).

However, if Rudolph can overcome the adversity of being born with an illuminated red nose, I can suffer through his song a few dozen times (although something tells me that number may climb this holiday season).

So, you Grinches, Scrooges, etc., know that it’s not that you hate Christmas music, it’s just that you’re not listening to a large enough variety.

Challenge accepted!

Prepare yourselves for an onslaught of Christmas music.  For the next 28 days enjoy a different Christmas song everyday courtesy of 2WC.  I can’t promise everyone else will be so kind, but I can promise that I am probably about to endure a season full of Rudolph.
