Yes, it turns out that brain freeze isn’t actually caused by ice cream, slushies or ice water seeping into your brain, and turning it into a braincicle.
In fact, this natural phenomenon has more in common with a migraine, than turning your cranium into the North Pole. In reality, it is actually keeping your brain warm, not cold.
Fun fact for you migraine sufferers, you’re more prone to brain freeze than the rest of us.
As for the rest of us, we can all sit back and relax with our ice cold beverage or confection of choice, confident with the knowledge that we are no longer in danger of literal brain freeze…although, that doesn’t mean it won’t still sting.
