69. Set a small goal and achieve it. People often make the mistake of shooting for the moon, and then when they fail, they get discouraged. Instead, shoot for something much more achievable. Set a goal you know you can achieve, and then achieve it. You 8767 ll feel good about that. Now set another small goal and achieve that. Getting this right is a matter of having the right amount of confidence, founded in reality and on your true ability. With the right amount of self-confidence, you will take informed risks, stretch yourself (but not beyond your abilities) and try hard.

Self-confidence - English-Spanish Dictionary

If you feel low and you sense negative thoughts running through your mind, ask yourself why this is the case. Half the battle to conquering poor self-esteem is to identify when and why you feel a certain way.

Confidence | Definition of Confidence by Merriam-Webster

When you&rsquo re starting, don&rsquo t try to do anything clever or elaborate. And don&rsquo t reach for perfection &ndash just enjoy doing simple things successfully and well.

If you are under-confident, you&rsquo ll avoid taking risks and stretching yourself and you might not try at all. And if you&rsquo re over-confident, you may take on too much risk, stretch yourself beyond your capabilities, and crash badly. You may also find that you&rsquo re so optimistic that you don&rsquo t try hard enough to truly succeed.

As you can see from these examples, low self-confidence can be self-destructive, and it often manifests itself as negativity. Confident people are generally more positive &ndash they believe in themselves and their abilities, and they also believe in living life to the full.

It is the calm in the center of the storm around me. Here 8767 s how.

8. Photoshop your self-image. Our self-image means so much to us, more than we often realize. We have a mental picture of ourselves, and it determines how confident we are in ourselves.
