Today is National Savings Day, which, as you might have guessed, is all about reminding you to rethink your finances. I know, most of us would rather do pretty much anything else. Whether you like it or not they’re important, and if you don’t believe me, try ignoring them for a while and see what happens.
While money can’t buy happiness, you may find you’re grateful you set some aside on a rainy day. In honor of the holiday, I thought I’d share a few pearls of wisdom (from those wiser than myself) about wealth in all its different forms. While these quotes may not buy you early retirement, they’re at least a reminder of the potential power of the choices you make every day…
“A penny saved is a penny got.”
~Benjamin Franklin
“Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.”
~Henry David Thoreau
“It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
~J. K Rowling
“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.”
~Eleanor Roosevelt
On that note, I’ll leave you to contemplate, and maybe reconsider that impulse buy that’s hanging out in your Amazon cart…
