Don’t get me wrong. I contribute more than my fair share to that cloud of film and television pretentiousness and I couldn’t be more excited for this season.
Sunday night, Ricky Gervais returns to the Golden Globes stage and we all get to sit back and relax, which is more than can be said for whoever’s on censor button duty that night (good luck).
The next few months will be an endless parade of “who should’ve been nominated” and “who should’ve won” and I can’t wait. For my part, this mark’s the front end of the 2WC’s annual challenge to see all of the nominated films. Two down (fingers crossed they correspond with Oscar nominations), quite a few more to go. Wish us luck, and see you on the other side.
