Well, it’s early April and for Chicago runners that means one thing: Shamrock Shuffle.
Does it make sense that a St. Patrick’s Day themed event takes place nowhere near the holiday itself? No. Do we care? No. Think of it as a city-wide acknowledgement of the fact that the holiday lasts a month anyways.
In spite of the confused theme, it’s a great kick-off to the running season (even if it still doesn’t feel like spring), and a great excuse for a “free” beer with 40 thousand of your running buddies.
For the 2WC it was a family affair this year. We’d like to extend a special congrats to our fellow racers who completed their first Shuffle (you know who you are), and a thank you to our cheer squad!
Now, if you’ll excuse us, I think we’ve earned some nap time.
