So Cliché

Posted on the 07 November 2015 by Rarasaur @rarasaur

They put me on a pedestal-
or did I do this to myself?

I win them over with winged words.

One by one.

Until all eggs are in my basket,
all balls are in my court,
and mine is the only opinion
that matters at all.

I twisted their words
until paranoia fell from the sky
like cats and dogs,
and I turned their heads
so every sows' ear
looked just like a silk purse.

From the frying pan,
they willingly threw themselves
into the fire,
and lifted my burning soul
onto a place of worship.

A glass box-
protecting an idol with clay feet.

A glass house on a pedestal.

Hindsight shows me where I went wrong,
and I see how far I have to fall...

and still, I throw stones.

so cliché

Only Day 6 and I'm already using emergency filler posts? I have an excuse, actually:

Today I didn't feel like writing something new.

Hey, I didn't say it was a good excuse. I hope you enjoyed this "something old".

What's your favorite (or least favorite) cliché?
