Soul Saturdays: New Orleans is a Place of Passion

During my time in New Orleans, one thing became abundantly clear: these people have passion. The artists, chefs, football fans, psychics, musicians...the passion here was thicker than the humid air or huge po' boy sandwiches. The energy and creativity that flowed out of the people, the buildings, and the streets spills into everything they do, at all hours of the day.
And the devastation of Katrina is not a taboo topic; instead, this storm serves as a badge of pride, a constant reminder that your world can be flipped upside down in a day and you better enjoy the here and now selfishly and fully. You feel like the city would scold you if it found out you were pursuing your passion fervently and constantly--there is simply no time to waste.
