…Spring

Posted on the 03 March 2013 by Zer @the2women

may flowersWe don’t know about you but with all of the Nemo’s, Helen’s, Gandolf’s, Draco’s, and Luna’s flying around we’re starting to feel like we’re trapped in Pixar’s Greek tragedy of a Middle Earth snow-globe at Hogwarts.

It’s the first Sunday of March, and 2WC is done with Winter. Seriously, we’ve had enough of cold, snow, ice and general gray ickyness.

Winter it’s been real, but we’re through—it’s officially spring.

Unfortunately, we don’t actually have the authority to declare official Springtime (yet), so instead we’re instituting our own Cabin Fever Countdown.

From now until March 20th, we’re spending Sundays looking forward to warmer weather, fewer layers, and far, far less snow.

As with any change, the change in seasons requires preparation. So this week we thought we’d prepare you for the transition from winter to spring. Here are our top winter to spring survival tips:

  • Start pumping the allergy meds now. Generic or brand name, take your pick. Flu season sucked and allergy season is right on its heels. The flowers are much more enjoyable when you don’t have to glimpse them between sneezes.
  • Don’t ditch the coat quite yet. It may seem like a good idea, but the moment you give into the rising temperatures nature has a habit of sending an April blizzard. Layers are your friend. Same goes for footwear.
  • For many spring means one thing: baseball. It’s spring training time, the new season is upon us, and hope is in the air. Cubs fans, remember, this too shall pass. Realistic expectations will get you through this confusing time of having a shot at winning. Stay strong.

Sorry, we couldn’t resist a dig at the Cubs.

Until next week, just remember, Spring isn’t just a season, it’s a state of mind. But you should probably still wear a coat, for now.
