…Start from the Bottom

Posted on the 08 July 2019 by Zer @the2women

…Start from the BottomThis is not a drill! I repeat this is not a drill! It's Monday, but we've got this. I think...

Vacation/holiday weekends have a way of making Mondays worse, so before we do anything else, let's take a deep breath (inhale...and exhale). Now grab that coffee/tea/smoothie with a side of determination and perseverance and get to it.

Even if you don't feel quite ready, it's go time. I promise, the week will start without you. If you're not sure where to start, might I suggest the beginning? As Hammerstein wrote and Julie Andrews sang, it is indeed, "a very good place to start."

I know, it's common sense wrapped in a cliche and an over-used lyric, but hear me out (please). Every now and then we all get ahead of ourselves (guilty). We see that finish line (or Friday) and want to get there a little faster, but taking things one step at a time is usually a good idea. Especially on a Monday.

That's not to say you shouldn't take risks. In fact, take all the risks. Put yourself out there, make mistakes and learn from them. Just remember that there's a fine line between taking a leap of faith and taking a shortcut. To quote every coach ever - you have to put in the work.

How you put in that work matters too, but that's a conversation for a different day.

I'm guessing you already know this, but it's nice to have a reminder. It may not seem like you're getting anywhere some days, but you are (yes, you). I assure you that past-you would love to be where you are right now. To quote a great Canadian artist, you "started from the bottom, now we're here." Now get out there and knock the socks off this week. You've got this.

...speaking of putting in the work, congrats to World Cup champions, the US Women's national soccer team!!!

...just for fun:
