This weekend was our annual trip to West Palm Beach, Florida... specifically Singer Island, to submerge ourselves in music, dancing and laughter with friends. It was the Dave Matthew's Band Summer Tour concert. Another DMB weekend in the books! It did not disappoint even with the rain clouds, really it wouldn't be a DMB concert without the rain. This year Mr. Road King and I left our covered pavilion seats and trekked out to the muddy pastural hill to hang with friends. The energy out on that muddy hill was infectious. We were dancing, singing, laughing and absorbing the music and amazing energy. Thank you Dave Matthew's Band for bringing us together, building a community and gracing us with your incredible talent.
We had a surprisingly early start this morning to head back to Orlando. After a stop an Alchemist Gastropub and Bar, which is quickly becoming my new favorite.Their food is SUPERB! We left West Palm Beach heading home. On the way, we decided to take a detour and check out a Wildlife Refuge in Vero Beach. Pelican Island is America's oldest National Wildlife Refuge established in 1903. We enjoyed a walk to the Pelican NWR observation area and took pictures along the way. We knew in the heat of the day there wouldn't be too many animal sightings if any, but there is always something to photograph. The island itself is small and requires a boat to get there. Pick up a camera, go exploring you may be surprised at everything you see. Below are a few of my favorites from the wildlife refuge.
