I have that effect.
It went further west than they expected before turning north, so we didn't get nearly the winds and rains they warned us about. My power didn't even go out.
That said, I stayed up all night watching the Weather channel, seeing what was happening in NYC, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, West Virginia, and all the other places that got hit so badly. My heart goes out to you all. The company I work for is sending out a catering van to some of the effected areas to help feed those recovering from the disaster, which I think is pretty damn cool.
