Susie & the Beanstalks

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and I had my penultimate growth scan today and I am happy to report that the mystery over the sex of twin 1 has been solved.
Twin 1 is a girl!!!
I feel so excited and happy to know that I am having 1 of each. It feels good to be ‘Team Purple’! Rob and I now need to go on a girlie clothes mission as up until now we have only been buying boys clothes and some neutral ones. It is so great to finally know what we are having and I am sure that Rob is extra pleased as it means I can stop bugging him with unanswerable questions about the sex.
The Doctor confirmed that he was pleased with how the twins are both developing. They are both healthy and are growing like little bean stalks. The sonographer estimated their weights to be 5.2 lb and 5.4 lb which is pretty good, if a little bit scary as this could mean that when ‘birth-day’ rolls around they could be over 7 lb’s each, (oh my poor uterus!).
They are both in the same position that they were in at 28 weeks. Twin 1 is breach and twin 2 is transverse and if twin 1 stays breach then it will be a section for sure. The problem is, is that they don’t have too much room to move. But I guess you never know. A decision will be made at my 36 week scan, unless of course I go into pre-term labour (I really need to put all the things I have collected for my hospital bag into my hospital bag!).
The Doctor I saw today said that it was unlikely that they would let me go past 37 weeks, which means that I have only 5 weeks to go. This thrills me, as it means I will soon be meeting my little hitchhikers and also scares the bejesus out of me, as it means they have to find their way out of me - be it by section or by the old-school lady part exit (both ways are not very appealing...). Why, oh why does beaming technology not exist yet? It would make birthing a way more awesome experience. I would so love it if they could energise them right out of me (I know I have said this before, but really life would be so much better if Star Trek technology actually existed, and yes I am aware that the last few lines confirmed my geek status, and no I don’t care!).
Well, I got a couple of new pictures of my lovely girl and boy and I have posted them below. They are not great again, as at this stage it is quite hard to get a decent picture. Twin 1 (the chick) is showing off the profile of her face and twin 2 (the dude) is being shy. He is turned inwards and is in the foetal position, so you can just make out the back of his head, his back and a leg curled up around him.
It feels lovely to feel this happy and to be able to share it with Rob. It is nice to not be the only person bouncing like a Mexican bean with joy. Susie & the beanstalks
