Today’s Apple event came with plenty of expectations, and many of them were met. The iPad Pro was revealed. The Apple Watch and iPhone also got some upgrades. Plus the Apple TV is getting a makeover and a new remote.
However, amidst the expected there was a hidden gem, a gift to the internet and a source for infinite parodies and other humorous commentary. If you haven’t already caught up on today’s big reveal, you’re in for a treat. I give you, the Apple Pencil.
No, this is not a hoax. It’s the stylus (that’s not a stylus, according to Apple) that works with the new iPad Pro, and it will put you back $100, in addition to the $800 (or more) you’ll have to spend on the new iPad itself.
Why the high price? Well, other than the fact that it’s an iProduct, it also speaks with the iPad Pro. Which means it has a lot more going on inside than your average stylus. It also means you’ll have to…I mean, get to charge it.
Okay, so it’s a cool, and incredibly stylish stylus that actually communicates with the iPad Pro…but at the end of the day it’s an accessory that should have been called iPencil or iPen.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go take a look at my Apple budget to see if I can justify spending nearly $1000 on a new tablet and its really cool stylus…I mean Apple Pencil.
