The world may be falling apart, but the good news is NASA is relaunching their astronaut space program…sort of.
Patriotic astronuts of the USA received some long-awaited good news. Today, NASA announced that it has awarded contracts to Boeing and SpaceX to fly astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).
More importantly, it means that in the near future, American astronauts will be taking off from American soil.
If you’re wondering why, three years after ending the space shuttle program, NASA has a sudden interest in taking back control over there access to the ISS, then you might want to catch up on your current events.
Given our current relationship with Russia, piggybacking on their shuttles to the station won’t be an option for much longer.
And if you’re wondering why we even need to go to space, and general curiosity or the need to understand the universe, aren’t strong enough answers…well, I’d to once again suggest that you catch up on your current events, and then think of it as a backup plan.
