Happy Pride weekend!
It’s hard to believe that a year ago, here in the US of A we were celebrating the historic (and long over due) Supreme Court ruling that granted equal marriage rights to all.
This year, we celebrate the one year anniversary. Sadly, the past year has had a sobering effect on that victory.
While a legal battle may have been won, many still see the differences of others as a threat to their way of life. Even worse, a few of them think it’s their right to force their beliefs on others. It’s hard to know what to do in the face of such hatred, other than hope and push for change and acceptance.
So, this Pride weekend as we celebrate, let’s hope that this message of love inspires some to rethink how they see those who are different from them.
