…take the Time

Posted on the 04 January 2014 by Zer @the2women

melting clockWhile to many time travel is the stuff of  science fiction, there are those out there who’ve dedicated their lives to proving its existence. Still others have decided that Twitter is the key to uncovering time travel.

This was of course after they scoured Facebook.

What precisely did they hope to find? Instagrammed shots of their DeLorean? Foursquare check-ins from the TARDIS?

Turns out this crack team from Michigan Technological University were looking for anyone who tweeted about  Comet ISON or the appointment of Pope Francis I before these events happened. They of course scanned for these using the appropriate hashtags: #cometison and #popefrancis.

I’m not totally discounting the possibility of time travel. It seems unlikely, but I can’t help account for the impossible. However, I do think it’s highly unlikely that someone would uncover the ability to travel through space and time and then accidentally tweet about something before it happens.

Mention it in conversation, maybe. Reveal his or her secret to a chosen few in hopes of averting a future catastrophe, of course. But would they let the secret of their powers slip in 140 characters? Please.

Perhaps this time could be better served working towards the invention of time travel instead of searching those who have already discovered it out. I’m no time travel expert, but I imagine that if it does someone’s going to get slapped by their future self at this point (time streams be damned)

On second thought, look what I found on Google Maps…
