Tarot’d Thoughts

Posted on the 16 November 2013 by Rarasaur @rarasaur

I saw this Tarot Reading over at Mer‘s place, and decided to do a run of it.  I’m a huge fan of all of these types of things.  Going in to this automated reading, I was curious as to a computer’s output.

In all my previous face to face readings, the outcome card is always The Moon, so I was happy to see her sitting pretty in her normal spot.  It was so encouraging, in fact, that I took the time to read the entire analysis.  The gray is their explanation, and the black text are the thoughts the reading inspired.

Card 1 (Judgement) : How you feel about yourself now »  You feel this is an end to an era or at least a certain phase of your life – you are taking stock and looking where you want to go from here. This ending is not one for regret but for rejoicing. Soon you will enjoy the rewards for your past efforts. As with any period of endings, many opportunities will present themselves and the choice that you make will have far reaching implications that could change your life dramatically. Any legal issues should be ruled in your favour.

In March 2014, my lease ends.  On August 2014, I turn 30.  On December 2014, an important era ends for me.  Am I thinking about what comes next?

Yes. Almost every second of every day.

Card 2 (The Tower) : What you most want at this moment » The cards suggest that what you most want at this time is an easy solution to a problem. However in life, turmoil and upheaval often brings about change – just not quite as we would like it. Seize this opportunity of change as a chance for a new beginning. You may want to move home but will be experiencing setbacks.

Yes, I want an easy solution.  I’ve had several years of big events and I’m looking forward to small complexities– like struggling to make my herb garden grow, and deciding between beige or gray for my neutral color of choice.

I’ve been trying to define what home is, where home is, and how home is.  Everything has been so flip floppy that I just want something ordinary.

Despite that desire though, I can smell change, folding over the horizon.

Something different this way comes.

Card 3 (The Hierophant) : Your fears » Are you really your best counsel? Probably not at this moment in time. You are worried that you will sell yourself short and agree to something that you don’t feel morally comfortable with. For example you may really desire marriage but the offer has been ‘let’s live together’. You may be looking at a job or business opportunity but you question how ethical it is. Seek out an advisor you can trust such as a teacher, priest, parent or anyone you have respect for. They will be happy to help.

This has been my most recent prevalent fear.  I would like to start a new project, teaching what I know about art and business and how they intersect.  I have topics, coursework, ideas for videos– and yet, I just don’t know.  I’d like it to be offered for free, but I don’t want to be discounted because of that choice.  I want to get into the nitty gritty without delving into my work experience– which is thorough, but boring.  I don’t want to be known as an expert, I just want to see my advice in action– in the hands of those who need it.

I gave myself a deadline to make some choices regarding my hobbies– balancing my blog, the possibilities with e-book saving, and the possibility of business art, versus paid writing jobs and paid freelance jobs.

Right now, everything is being juggled, and I’d rather it not all collapse around my feet just because I can’t trust myself to make the best decision for myself.

Card 4 (The Devil) : What is going for you » There’s a possibility of permanence here. If you’re considering a commitment in a relationship or marriage this is a good sign. However question your motives because here we have temptation and addiction, and a desire to be controlled or controlling. So use your intuition and if you recognize what you feel as sincere, great, if not you still have a chance to change direction. If considering giving up a bad habit, such as smoking or drinking for example, now is a good time to start.

I also sense permanence in the air.  I like thinking of this as a good thing.  In my mind, it’s listed amongst fears.   It’s only scary because I’m apparently terrified of committing to any career or hobby.

10

Card 5 (Wheel Of Fortune) : What is going against you » A run of bad luck here, perhaps already evident or certainly signs that things are not going your way. The responsibility of important decisions weigh heavy with you where there are choices to make. Trust your intuition, and even if you have to make the painful decision to give up something in order to move on, then have the courage to do it. Trust that The Wheel of Fortune constantly turns and whilst it may be against you at the moment it will in time turn and bring you good fortune.

The run of bad luck started long ago, and I’ve almost adjusted.  The Wheel of Fortune card is so often in my readings, and so often listed amongst what is going against me.  I think it’s less about what the change heralds, and more about my resistance to change.

18

Card 6 (The Moon) : Outcome »  Whilst you are confused and fearful and allowing your anxieties to hold you back, trust that all will turn out well in the end. Things may seem tough or confusing but stick with it, its right for you.

And there she is, the beautiful moon– always shining at the end of my stories,  always lighting up the beginning of my new journeys.  This card generally represents a time where decisions should be made with intuition and patience.   Some readers have taken it to be a bad sign that she’s always at the end of my spread, but I like it.

Other people see a card, but I see a light that has been following me around my entire life.
A light that reminds me of the magical way everything turns out alright in the end.
