Happy National Procrastination Day!
Or, if you prefer, happy tax day!
If you’re hastily looking for a calendar, newpaper or honest-looking stranger to confirm today’s date, call off the search. It is in fact April 17, and it is Tuesday, and it is also tax day.
Why?
Well, the obvious reason for it not being April 15, is that it fell on a Sunday. The not so obvious reason for it not being on Monday is Emancipation Day in Washington D.C. Yes, all these years they’ve been getting an extra holiday.
But the important thing is this year some procrastinators got their taxes in early, and probably didn’t even know it.
To those individuals, congratulations! Lucky for you, you can celebrate with a plethora of tax day fast food freebies ranging from curly fries to cinnamon rolls (yes, they do this every year). It’s a lot more fun than debating whether or not you can list your goldfish as a dependent.
The rest of you, hop to it. Only a few more hours to go.
…and, no, you cannot list your goldfish as a dependent.
