the International Auto Show

Posted on the 01 April 2013 by Kcsaling009 @kcsaling

This past weekend, Scott and I took a break from our crazy routines to hit the International Auto Show at the Javitz Center. In a word: incredible! I felt like we’d stumbled into Tony Stark‘s amazing garage. No classic roadster, maybe, but there was the Audi R8 parked next to the Lamborghini Aventador J parked next to the new Jaguar F Type…okay, let’s just say I’m a bit of a car nut and leave it at that!

Anyway, aside from indulging in my love of fine machinery, I was also able to do some creative camera work. Shiny things are notoriously difficult to photograph, so I wanted to work on that. I also had in my head creating a set of extremely vibrant color-saturated almost-art prints from the automotive art on display {my husband wants them for a screensaver – I like the idea, so look for it on my photography site soon!}, so think of some of these more as potential art pieces than the work of a car nut. And if cars really aren’t your thing {and I know that a lot of you just come by for the food and fashion}, no worries – stop by tomorrow for my review of Eataly!

And into Tony Stark’s garage we go…Maserati? Lamborghini? What’s your pleasure?

My husband was every bit as much of a shutterbug – and I snapped a couple of photos of him at work.

I have a feeling the Ford concept truck {named Atlas} is on his wish-list.

That’s only a little bit of what we did in New York this weekend, but that’s enough photos for one post! And for those of you who aren’t that into cars, don’t worry – tomorrow I’ll share with you my little tour guidebook to exploring SoHo and a culinary adventure at the fabulous Eataly!

Hope your week is off to a great start!
