The Next Big Thing – Blog Hop

Posted on the 07 February 2013 by Killmenow @lbigfoot

Welcome to my site. You may want to check out my book, "Kill Me Now!". Thanks for visiting!

The NEXT Big ThingThe next big thing – Blog hop! What is it? It’s a blog hop people. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s when some bloggers get together and blog about a similar topic and link to each other in a long chain.

I think that’s a good enough description about a blog hop. This blog hop is about find the “next big thing” in the reading world.

Here is my contribution to the hop.

  1. What is the working title of your book?
My book will be a trilogy of dating experiences, all as a “Kill Me Now!” My first book is out there with a sub-title of “A Middle Aged Man’s Maneuvers Through the Frontline of the Dating Battlefield”. My second has a working title of “How I didn’t meet your mother.”
  2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
All of us have dating experiences and some of us have bad dating experiences. I manage to find the humor in most situations and thought that if I wrote a humorous book, it may encourage others to get out and date. On one blog I write for, I always sign off “Get out and date my friends!
  3. What genre does your book fall under?
Humor, humor and more humor. But if you want to be pedantic, then add relationships and non-fiction. In some cases you can add pure horror such as in the case when one potential date threatened my life.
  4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Good question. I am open for bribes here. Whoever pays me the most. Definitely not Tom Cruise as I have a low opinion of him. Maybe Nicholas Cage?
  5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
I guess it would be a statement stolen from Karate Kid “When life knocks you down, you can choose whether to get up or not.”
  6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I tried going through and agency, iUniverse. They literally ripped me off. I ended up self-publishing via CreateSpace.
  7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About 3 months. It was easy for me as I was already blogging about some of my experiences. I just felt that I had to improve on things and took my blog offline.
  8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Seeing as how people told me that my book was unique, I would have to say none. Most books about dating dwell on what not to do or how to’s. Before my book came on the market, there were few books written by men, telling our side of the story and all about our misfortunes. Kill Me Now!
  9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Friends inspired me. I had a story to write and I could influence others with my humor. One relative told me that I had missed my calling in life and so I went ahead and did it.
  10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
My book is unique to many books currently available, as it a journey of events designed to bring a smile to the audience. But as one reviewer said, “In ‘Kill Me Now!’, Lawrence dies a thousand deaths at the hands of the enemy: any woman he attempts to date.” Yet, I still continue to boldly go where others have gone before, meaning to date and date until I find her. Oh and just so you know, I have found her!
