In The Water Flowers of Cerulean City , Pidgeotto was used in Ash's Cerulean Gym battle against Misty , where it fought Starmie. Pidgeotto started off with Whirlwind , but Starmie jumped into the water and then hit Pidgeotto with Tackle. Starmie then went for another Tackle, but got knocked into the water by Pidgeotto's Wing Attack. Starmie, however, quickly recovered and struck Pidgetto with Tackle again. As Starmie headed back to attack once again, Pidgeotto used Gust to propel it with great force into the Gym's wall. The battle was then interrupted by Team Rocket, who tried to steal the Gym's Pokémon.

Hibachi, with its grilled meat and vegetables, was more Kim&rsquo s speed. Her steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and was full of juice and flavor. The plate was completed with sauté ed vegetables and mound of fried rice.

The ending is tragic, resulting in death that is not glorious but obscure and hidden, leaving no record. Isaburo's dying words are gasps of advice to Tomi, his granddaughter. He tells her how brave her mother and father were, but Tomi is too young to understand. In another sense, the ending is triumphant: The three heroes of the story have expressed their will and their sense of right and wrong. We remember Isaburo shouting, "For the first time in my life I feel alive!"
This does not please the family, but they obey the lord. After the marriage, Isaburo sees a way out of his unhappy subservience to his wife. He retires and names Yogoro head of the family. Yogoro explains to Ichi that his father dislikes his mother, "but has borne everything." Now Ichi will be the woman who manages the household: "You needn't hold back because of the old woman." To everyone's surprise, Ichi and Yogoro learn to love each other, and their marriage is blessed with a daughter named Tomi. When Yogoro asks his wife why she attacked the lord, she replies simply: "I felt as if a hairy worm was crawling over me."
Pidgeotto played a very important part in Ash's Viridian Gym battle in Battle for the Badge! . Ash's Squirtle and Bulbasaur were being brutalized by Giovanni 's Kingler and Machamp , commanded by Jessie , but Pidgeotto turned the tables by using a Quick Attack / Double-Edge combination to inflict serious damage on her Rhydon.
Ash also owns a Pidgeotto in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga. It is the fourth Pokémon that Ash captures in the manga. It first debuts in Play Misty For Me . In that chapter, it was given the nickname Walter Pidgeotto (Japanese: ビジョン Vision ).
