the Town of Oyster Bay

Posted on the 12 October 2013 by Lily Hydrangea

when I was a kid, my family and I always referred to this place as "the dump". knowing I wanted to post this picture as soon as I shot it, I looked for the "proper" name of this locale only to find a sign outside the entrance that read "The Town of Oyster Bay". earlier this week I mentioned I had been cleaning out my basement. I knew half of what I had accumulated down there were nearly empty dried out paint in their cans - I recently completed a lot of painting inside and outside of my house. anyway, as I made my  delivery of useless cans along with other assorted obsolete electronics, to the "dump" this is what caught my eye. there is something about this scene that looks so neat and tidy to me - sort of like what my basement is starting to look like.  if you need to find out where you too can dispose of your unwanted rubbish, please visit the town of oyster bay's stop throwing out pollutants page here, aka the S.T.O.P. program.
