…Throw Shade

Today, I'd like to take a stroll with you down memory lane. Remember way back, about two years ago, when this summer began and I said that it was time for our annual talk about sunscreen and that I wouldn't say another word about it until next year? I lied.

As we reach the unofficial end of summer, I'm reminded that some think they can pack up their sunscreen along with their summer wardrobe. Frankly, I find that mildly concerning.

Fun fact, the sun emits UV rays ever single day of the year. That doesn't mean you have to slather on the SPF 100+ under your five scarves and parka in January, but it does mean you might want to pack a hat, some shades, and at least a 30 SPF for that sunny, late-summer or autumn outing.

If you're still a little uncertain whether a situation calls for UV protection. Here's one last tough love tip, don't be an idiot and wear your sunscreen.

Okay, that's it...for now.

To our American crusaders, enjoy the long weekend. To the rest of you, sorry. And as always, be brave, be kind, and wear your sunscreen.

P.S. - Today's photo (and colorful shade) is brought to you by years of cultivation, sunlight, photosynthesis, and Queen Mary's Rose Garden.
