Happy Halloween!
This year trick-or-treaters may have more than ghosts and goblins to worry about.
Thanks to the wonders of technology you can now track your children’s whereabouts, which FYI you could already do, but using a phone to know where your kid is sounds so much better when you call it something cute like “Trick or Tracker.”
I won’t even touch the obvious gap in understanding when it comes to such programs (advantage kids). Just know that it’s there, instead, let’s focus on the moral aspect of this dilemma.
I understand wanting to know where your kids are, but there’s something wrong about trusting texts from an app to take care of that for you.
Plus, what does your kid (who I assume is still trick-or-treating age) need with a smartphone (other than carry with them so that you can locate them down the street via satellite).
Parents-seems to me, if you’re that worried, it would be less creepy to just go out with them. That way when they ditch the GPS tracking device in a nearby bush, you’ll know, rather than wondering why your kid has been hanging about by that particular bush for 30 minutes.
Kids-if you hear rustling in the bush’s don’t be frightened. It’s probably not zombies or vampires lurking nearby, it’s just your parents, and their Trick or Treat themed tracking apps.
