…Use Force

Posted on the 20 December 2015 by Zer @the2women

694px-Star_Wars_LogoAs you may have heard “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” opened this weekend. Many of you may have already seen it. In fact, based on the $238 million box office record set by the film, a whole lot of you saw it.

I truly hope you enjoyed it, honestly. So, please don’t take what I’m about to say personally.

Please keep your mouth shut.

I’m glad it was everything you dreamed of (and more), but please no spoilers. Some of us, for reasons beyond our control, were unable to make it to the cinema this weekend. So, please keep the reactions to general statements with vague or (preferably) non-existent details.

As someone who has already seen it, you cannot fairly judge what constitutes a spoiler, so I’ve compiled a list of appropriate responses below:

  • Wow, that new “Star Wars,” film sure was epic!

That’s it.

Okay, if you insist on having another option, this is also acceptable:

  • J.J. Abrams is the best thing to happen to the “Star Wars” franchise since Yoda.

Anything that starts with, “I really like when…,” is strictly off-limits. Also, try to refrain from leading assumptions like, “You’re going to love this one part,” or ,”There’s a surprise twist.”

Anything that you did not know when you walked into that theater ahead of seeing the film, assume I do not want to know it.

If you insist on posting/tweeting or sharing your thoughts about the film via social media about the film, please clearly mark it with words such as “SPOILER ALERT” or “Review.”

Got it?

Thank you very much for your kindness and consideration.
