…Wear It Best

Posted on the 06 January 2018 by Zer @the2women

…Wear It BestTomorrow, the brightest stars of the big and small screen will take to the red carpet ahead of the Golden Globes. With them they’ll bring their glitz, glamour and a movement.

In recognition of the #TimesUp and #MeTop movements, many of the stars will be wearing black. Originally dubbed a silent protest, the wardrobe change will certainly be anything but silent. Not only will it draw attention to the issue of harassment in Hollywood and beyond, it also changes the red carpet conversation. It begs the question, “Why are you wearing that,” instead of the cringeworthy, “Who are you wearing?”

That in itself is applause worthy after countless attempts to shift the red carpet conversation for women.

Some will say that protests such as this have no place at an awards show. However, that argument starts to lose its legs when the issue at hand is a pervasive problem in Hollywood and beyond.

Plus, at the end of the day they’re people with voices and beliefs too. They just happen to have high profile jobs.

So tomorrow, feel free to bring your own opinions to the table, just expect others to do the same.
