We’re getting into that time period we call affectionately the “Gray Days” or the “Gloom Period.” It’s still winter but Mother Nature doesn’t want to give us all the good things of winter {like snow and sledding and bright winter sunrises} anymore, and she’s not ready to give up the good things of spring yet. It’s a limbo period, and everything is just gray. Sky, ground, what’s left of the snow, the granite buildings I work in, West Point’s school uniforms, and everyone’s moods. But before heading out this Friday for our office get-together, I looked out the window and caught the last glimmers of the sunset and a surprisingly warm looking sky. There are bright and wonderful things in every day ~ we just have to look for them. And occasionally, it helps to turn up a good winter-ish beat.
