I absolutely love the easy, mellow sound of this song. One of these days, when I get around to dragging my guitar out from under my desk, I’m going to teach myself how to play it. Somehow, someway. It’s on the 101 in 1001 list, after all.
I also love the concept of the album. Not literally unplugging, but the concept of going back to basics. Stripped down, no frills, creative basics.
That’s what I feel like I did with the photography class I just took. Prior to that, I was taking overly fancy, overly artistic photos and screwing up a lot of the basics. I could correct a lot of the mistakes in Photoshop and Lightroom, but not enough to turn a so-so photo into a great photo. That skill lies in getting the basics right. Not just focus, not just shutter speed and aperture, not the essentials of composition, but basics. Look for the light. Then look for the shot.
Basic. Beautiful.
