…weigh the Odds

Posted on the 25 March 2014 by Zer @the2women

basketballWe’ve uncovered this March Madness’ Sweet 16, and there’s a whole lot disappointment going around. Yes, there’s also plenty of unbridled joy from the unexpected winners—but at what cost? My bracket, that’s what.

Much of the disappointment is due to upsets and crumbling brackets across the board, but this year there’s an extra sting in the defeat—It’s already been determined that no one will be taking home Warren Buffet’s $1 billion for a perfect bracket.

True, the odds were never, ever, ever in anyone’s favor. Still it stings a little knowing that no one’s going to have to pay up on the prize, doesn’t it?

I’ll admit, the prospect added some extra pressure to the selection process, which usually involves me weighing season records with rankings and school colors and mascots. Lucky for me that pressure didn’t last long thanks to some early upsets.

For those with brackets that are still limping along, you do still have a shot at $100K if your bracket is one of the 20 highest scoring, come the end of the tournament. It’s not quite a billion, but it’ll do.

Good luck to you all that still have a shot. If you need me I’ll be counting down to April 8.
