With the holiday season fast approaching (and pretty much here), a lot of us are starting to get nostalgic.
Few things tug at your Christmas heart-strings like the classic holiday films. One of those films is getting revisited. Before you pass out from the panic of not knowing what film is being disgraced with an unnecessary sequel, I’ll put you out of your pain — “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
Yes, “they” chose the most classic of the classics (aside from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”, “A Christmas Story”,”White Christmas”, and “A Muppets Christmas Carol”).
And it appears this might actually be happening. The original Zuzu (Karolyn Grimes) is already cast as the angel who shows Bailey’s unlikeable grandson that the world would be a better place without him.
As disturbing as that storyline is, the most upsetting aspect of this misguided venture is the title — “It’s A Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story.”
Just off the top of my head, I can think of a couple better options:
- “It’s Still A Wonderful Life”
- Or in keeping with the upsetting plot — “It Could Have Been A Wonderful Life”
Or maybe, they could just give up on the title all together and settle on releasing another special edition Blu-ray box set…please?
