Happy May Day!

Or if you prefer the more accurate (but less catchy) title, happy International Worker’s Day!

Yes, it’s once again that unofficial holiday that celebrates taking to the streets, and taking a stand for the rights of the work and labor forces. Much like Labor Day, it’s ironically celebrated by not working.

All kidding aside, it does provide a wonderful example of how fortunate the people of the US are. While there were still plenty of demonstrations in the US today, they all happened peacefully, and we’re allowed to happen.

That wasn’t the case for many other corners of the world. May Day gatherings were even banned in Turkey, although that didn’t stop people from assembling anyways.

We may not be perfect, but at least we have the right to standup and speak out about what we believe in.

Have a happy and safe May Day!
