100 on 100

This weekend I am venturing up to VT to race in the 100 on 100 relay running race. I am part of a 6 person team and we each run 3 legs of the relay in order to complete 100 miles on Rt 100 which runs through Vermont!

Last year I participated and was the first runner, this year I think I am going to be the second runner. All of the runners have a lot of mileage and varying terrain but the first two runners have extremely challenging and steep terrain. The first runner has less mileage than the second, but in the third leg you literally run 6.7 uphill. That is not to discredit the second runner because they run up the Killington Mountain access road and have more mileage to complete… yuck!  Wish I had trained a little more for this!

Last year I started the race for as the first runner. Ready to run at 5:45 am! 100 on 100

Finishing the run as a team. We ran 100 miles in 14:00 hours with an average pace of 8:33.

The running part is challenging but the accomplishment is amazing and the team bonding is so fun! You spend a lot of time with your teammates through out the day!
