What would be my dream job?
I’d love to be a professional, full-time, earning writer.
I’m pretty sure I can string together sentences in a coherent manner. I even have fun doing it. God knows I’d love to see my name on the cover of a book. That’s the dream. But do I have what it takes to be a writer? Could I write my way into a decent supplemental income? Could I write my way out of a day job?
I know I’m putting the cart before the horse here. I’m still working on my first novel and it’s far from finished. Meanwhile, I can dream, right?
For the moment, I have to put my daydreaming aside, sit down, and bleed. Hemingway did that at his typewriter. I’m more old school. I do my bleeding over a notebook with a pencil in hand.
