There is no such thing as a beautiful mess. Sorry Jason Mraz. I know you wrote a gorgeously poetic song, but you’re wrong. Messes are simply just freakin’ messes.
Today I’m going to be sorting out messes. Toys and clothes and scattered papers with words and pictures and blah, blah, blah. All of the clutter building the storm that clouds my head needs some clearing out. So now I’m a grave digger with a big metal shovel pushing through that mess as deep as I can until I find beautiful clarity.
Jason Mraz writes that “we’re picking up trash in dresses,” but I beg to differ. Who picks up trash in Michael Kors or DKNY or even worse, Calvin Klein? No thank you. My trash is being picked up in yoga pants and a holey t-shirt. That’s just the the way it is. As my Mom says, “Cleanliness is next to G-dliness.” Amen, Mama. I’m with you!
