One by one and two by two, the day of duty calls

some in the morning some at night fall.

They climb there way to the stairs that will take them all.

Someplace  that has   a lot  of  office stalls,

Some are  students, and every type of person no matter their flaws.

They will wait on a platform  surrounded by colorfully written walls.

listening to a hagglers selling tickets to baseball.

A pan handler playing on his guitar  a folk song by Mary and Paul.

That makes everyone feel that time has stood still.

until at last, under their feet, the train’s engine they feel

As it stops, they step over an improper homeless person’s spill

Gathering in, they are pushed in as a group, before the wheels squeal

To begin the journey to work in order to pay bills

and to acquire things that  may thrill.

Not just for them but for their family’s  as well.
