I did a double-take recently when reading the headlines in the newspaper. The story wasn’t about the missing plane in Malaysia or the earthquake that just hit California, no, it was a story about a mother who beat her four-year-old to death because she thought he might be gay due to the fact that he “walked and talked like one of them.”
What I wrote about this for my latest Momaha post is sure to piss off some people, I have no doubt. But, I don’t write being afraid of what people say. I have to write what the truth is to me. And this time, I had to write for the four-year-old boy that will never get a chance to do it himself.
I’m taking a break from sarcasm, taking a break from snarky. And I’m sharing some of the most important words I have ever shared.
